The preparation workflow
Work through the same preparation, with next-step guidance and the outstanding checks in view.
Confirm the client, reporting period and accounts. Import supported statements and keep supporting documents alongside the work.
Inspect exceptions, source rows and evidence. Correct imports, record decisions and request missing facts or documents from the client.
Review outstanding requirements and significant judgments. An authorized reviewer approves the saved revision.
Generate a labelled package, download the Excel and PDF outputs, and find earlier packages in the preparation history.
Optional guided introductions and maintained Help explain the next step without completing accounting controls for you.
Connected accounting
Map accounts and tax codes, review supported transactions, and approve what goes to your connected QuickBooks Online company. Keep original documents, review decisions and posting confirmations alongside the preparation.
Connect the client's QuickBooks Online company and map the preparation to its accounts and tax codes.
Review dates, amounts, accounts and tax treatment before approving a batch of supported transactions for posting.
Rectify checks each posted transaction against QuickBooks Online and retains the result with the preparation for follow-up and review.
Evidence and accountant control
New preparations default to cash activity. Your firm confirms the client setup and reporting scope. Trace corrections and split allocations back to source amounts, and use source checks and reviewer requirements to see what still needs attention.
Business use, tax eligibility, completeness and approval remain decisions for your firm. Balanced totals and automatic suggestions do not establish them.
After changes, review the current preparation and its approval requirements before relying on a new output.

A successful import is a starting point for review. Check dates, currency, direction, amounts and coverage against the original records.
Inspect the mapping and proposed rows before importing. Use values-only XLSX or UTF-8 CSV; convert legacy XLS locally and retain the original.
Local PDF reading supports specific text layouts. Complete one-page PNG/JPEG statements require explicitly permitted AI reading. Combine multipage images into one complete PDF. Ambiguous or unsupported readings remain held for review.
Document AI has separate permissions, consent and spending controls. It can send disclosed document content to an external provider. Its output remains a draft.
No institution-wide PDF coverage is promised. Read how document processing handles information.

Authorize the connection to your client's QuickBooks Online company, map accounts and tax codes, and review supported transactions before approving them for posting. Rectify retains source evidence and posting results with the preparation. Bank-feed matching and final bank reconciliation take place in QuickBooks Online.

The conversational-style Ask Help retrieves product guidance; generative Help AI is not connected in the current release.
How Help handles questionsAccountants can prepare a private request link for a named client. Clients see the requests shared with them and supply documents or factual answers. An accountant reviews the response; a client upload does not automatically import transactions or resolve a review requirement.
